Why Citizenship?
Immigrants and Latinos are standing up to discriminatory laws, and demanding más respeto for our communities.
Why Citizenship?
closeImmigrants and Latinos have been devastated by the effects of anti-immigrant laws like Arizona’s sweeping the country. These policies encourage discrimination and racial profiling against people just because of the way they look or speak – and the time is now to fight back.
Immigrant families are saying Ya Basta! We demand más respeto for ourselves, our families and our neighbors – and we call upon the 8.1 million immigrants eligible this year to begin the process for citizenship now.
Why Now?
This year’s general elections will be historic, and you need to start your application now to be able to vote this November.
Why Now?
closeWe need responsible leaders to steer the immigration debate towards a real solution — and the most effective way to influence elected officials in our state and in Washington is at the ballot box.
If you want to become a citizen in time to register for the November elections, you should apply for naturalization by the end of April! This will allow time for USCIS to process your final application and meet key deadlines.
If you are already a citizen, encourage your parents, your friends, even your abuelita to become citizens.
How to Start
The time to begin your application for citizenship is now, and we have everything you need to get started.
How to Start
closeWe have the power to change the direction of these anti-immigrant policies. And, we have an obligation to our families and our community to do what’s necessary to become a citizen, register, and vote.
